Caregiver Support

A five-week Caregiver’s Support Group is offered to those caring for an individual with a life threatening illness. The intent of the group is to provide a place for caregivers to share feelings and experiences, and to better enable them to provide care while maximizing their own wellness. Although an educational component is included, the main focus is peer support.

The meetings are held weekly and begin when six caregivers are registered.

A Cancer/Caregiver Support Group is offered to those people newly diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers or other loved ones touched by this unexpected news. This is an "open" group that runs weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Hospice Wellness Centre in Guelph. Please call the office (519.836.3921) or e-mail the office to register.

For parents of a child with a life threatening illness one-to-one support/or respite is available from our dedicated team of volunteers. This specialized support provides a comfortable and safe place for people to express themselves and share their feelings.

Day Programs are also offered to the caregiver.
