Caregiver Assistance

Hospice Caregiver AssistanceCaregivers assume a tremendous burden, without complaint or regret, and often without any experience in providing this type of care.

A Caregiver’s Support Group is offered to those caring for an individual with a life-threatening illness. The intent of the group is to provide a place for caregivers to share feelings and experiences, and to better enable them to provide care while maximizing their own wellness. Although an educational component is included, the main focus is peer support.

For parents of a child with a life-threatening illness, specialized support is available.

Hospice Wellington provides support, advice and information for caregivers on how to access resources and services available to them through our community service partners. Moreover, volunteers provide valuable respite care so that caregivers can attend to other matters such as running errands, visiting with friends or family, and resting.

Hospice Wellington’s Social Programs and Wellness Programs are also offered to the caregiver.
