Hospice Wellington

Hospice Wellington is an equal opportunity employer. Accommodations are available for all parts of the recruitment process. Apllicants should make their needs known in advance.

Working for Hospice Wellington can be an incredibly rewarding experience. We are a small dedicated team and are building our centre of expertise so we look for potential staff who are focused on the same goals and values as Hospice Wellington and who are prepared to go 110% to meet these goals.

This is not an average job so we only hire extraordinary people who truly reflect the passion for providing care to the dying and creating a team environment to achieve excellence. You must be flexible and open to different ideas, have a genuine curiosity and empathy for those we serve and have a passion for client and family centred care delivered by a team. Critical thinking skills are considered key and support for volunteers and interdisciplinary care is essential. Evidence of volunteering and other not for profit work is preferred; training in Hospice palliative care is also an advantage.

Interested in clinical work?

Our residential team joined us in May 2010. We do have a need for occasional skilled casual staff particularly Registered Nurses. We may only offer the opportunity to work once every two months so flexibility and high clinical expertise in hospice palliative care are essential. If interested please contact Pat Stuart, Director of Care 519 822 6660 pat.stuart@hospicewellington.org

The best way to discover if you like this kind of work environment is to come on a student or work placement or volunteer. Volunteers must undertake the 30 hours of Hospice training prior to working in direct care roles.
