Through the enthusiastic work of experienced professionals and trained volunteers, thousands of community members receive the care and support they need from Hospice Wellington. What began as the dream of dedicated volunteers has become an invaluable community of  expertise, providing programs, guidance, support and compassion to people of all ages in Guelph and Wellington County.

Most of us are unable to consider the prospect of ourselves or a loved one facing a terminal illness. Some family members are not sure how to best ease the pain and discomfort, provide care and companionship, or support the emotional needs of family and friends. For many, dying at home is not an option. The residential hospice provides the most appropriate setting giving the comfort and support of home. Our hospitals do an outstanding job providing acute care and rehabilitation, but they are not equipped to provide high quality end-of-life care. Many of us may not be aware of other options that serve the hospice palliative care needs of our community.

As we commemorate nearly 30 years serving Guelph and Wellington County, and continue to meet our community’s current and future needs in palliative care – providing comfort and assistance to those who are living with a life threatening illness, who are dying and who are grieving a loss associated with illness and death – we invite you to learn more about Hospice Wellington, and get involved.
